Project achievements included:

- signing our network provider contract
- facilitating one of the most complex global meetings I've ever done
- Mac builds being generated in Casper
- big steps towards finalisation our service hours
- lifting the mist on our event management web requirements

Additionally:

- kept a steady ship (mostly) during a time of business hyperactivity
- interviewed for The Gemalto Review
- experimented with HulloMail cloud-based voicemail
- and Memeo Send
- prepared first draft for my workshop at Google Atmosphere (and checked the train times!)

Project achievements included:

- positive movement on the group positioning project
- final numbers on the networks work
- additional groups identified for Google Docs piloting

- feedback to the head of the US business following last week's visit
- feedback to my IT Programme group about progress in the past 12 months (lots!)
- started conversations about CRM strategies
- and wrapped up the #summerlookup project

- exploration of tools for creative collaboration
- the Dearborn office enabled for Google Docs
- and initial scoping for network and server refresh

- experiencing the build up to the Woodward Dream Cruise

Project achievements included:

- another tranche of BES user migrations
- some great early observations from our Docs and Sites piloting
- contracts finalised on our managed network project
- great progress on a company-wide positioning initiative
- steps towards the start of the managed print services project

Additionally:

- invited to speak at a Google event in Dublin in October
- committed to attend Web2.0 in San Francisco in November
- gave an overview of the ERP project

Project achievements included:

- cloud-hosted BES deployment began (c. 50 people now over) 
- contract negotiations on our network project for London
- technical proof of concept paving the way for Windows 7 and a new notebook supplier
- initial engagement on a major benefits dependency exercise

Additionally:

- second release of our change management procedures
- minor trial of TruPhone began
- reference for a potential new Google customer (if only their pricing were higher I'd ask for commission!)

Project achievements included:

- decommissioning of the London secondary machine room
- starting the evaluation of new laptop supplier
- setting up for the final stages of the London networks project

- good sessions with the European CEO...

- beginning to see the benefits of Google Docs when working inter-organisation

Project achievements included:

- Sydney office upgrade work completed
- Google Docs deployment continued
- budgeting for 2010 Capex

Additionally:

- analysis of the 2010 IT Survey - a short paper coming soon
- met with our new Adobe account manager
- was a guest author on the Google Enterprise Blog
- tried an iPad

Project achievements included:

- Shanghai office services (mostly) deployed
- and the Sydney office upgrade started
- Google Docs released to the first pilot users
- and the start of sessions with pilot groups on what they might be able to achieve with the new tools
- potential advisers for the managed printing services project identified

Additionally:

- the Computing article at last made the light of day (even if they did spell my name wrong)
- a good lunchtime chat with Phil Dickinson which triggered a hopefully interesting article here
- a reader survey (which some people have actually completed)
- received an invitation to Google Atmosphere in Paris in the autumn
- and had a weird excursion into the plans for new gTLDs at proposal stage at ICANN

Another 4-day week, so an early weeknote...

Project achievements included:

- completing presentations to the board about Google phase 2
- seeing the deployment of group-based permissions
- describing a potential crm service
- client reference meetings for the networks project

Additionally:

- Google video and Computer Weekly article published, interviewed for The Times and wrote guest Blogger article for Google enterprise blog.
- found out how well video chat can work
- saw quite how bad the iPhone aerial issue is
- continued to get no joy from lenovo
- planned a trip to the US offices

Project work this week included:

- preparing for network provider client reference visits
- continuing to present the Google Phase 2 project to Group Board members
- seeing our cloud-hosted BES go live (eventually)
- observing the Shangai office fit-out from afar

Additionally:

- presented at the Google CIO event
- responded to more clients' feedback from the 2010 IT Survey
- saw myself on video (more on that soon)
- saw one of our core hardware providers (Lenovo) fail to deliver so as to lose us as a customer (ditto)

Project work this week included:

- launching the 2010 Imagination IT survey (and surprising some by actually responding to their feedback)
- signing off the hosted BES service
- short-listing network service providers

Additionally:

- interviewed by Computer Weekly about cloud security
- met with my old boss from the BBC who is over from Beijing for the week (nice to see you, Tim!)
- did the first presentation to London staff about what is happening in the next 12 months in Imagination IT
- finalised a presentation for the Google CIO event in London next week

Projects work this week included:

- planning the Google Phase 2 board communications
- delivering a highly successful presentation to the European MD
- working with Ovum and Google on a couple of case studies
- sitting on the sidelines (where I should be) as my team ran the first supplier presentations in a major procurement exercise

Additionally:

- shared Asia experiences with the team...
- ...travel tips with the Group FD
- and marvelled on how, when they work, there's nothing quite as persuasive as a live demo.

Projects work this week included:

- meeting with my clients in the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, selling the Google Phase 2 story
- helping with supplier meetings for services for our new Shanghai office

Additionally:

- valuable time with Todd - my IT Manager for Asia
- explored a bit of Hong Kong
- decided that two weeks of travel for work is just a bit too long
- walked on a glass floor, 100 storeys up in the air

- continuing to sell the Google story in the Sydney office
- coaching to help people to get the most out of the tools we already provide
- meeting with potential recruiters and support service providers

- got to know the guys in the Sydney office
- and met with a bunch of friends who I hadn't seen in an age

Projects work this week included:

- issuing the RFP for core network services in our London offices (it went out on Tuesday)
- workshopping next steps on being able to issue an "IT Promise" to form the core of the proposition on offer to our clients in the business
- running our new ePolicy past key board members in advance of starting to deploy it across the business
- signing off on the purchase of a product to provide support for the build and management of MacOS machines across the business
- formally closing phase 1 of the Google Apps project

Additionally:

- spent some time with a journalist who is writing a case study for one of our consulting suppliers
- presented to about 150 people at the Ovum event in London
- prepared material for the trip to Asia
